09.26.12 | I LOVE...

lately, i've had this urge to redecorate my house. in particular, my dining room. it desperately needs some help. it's just sitting there, with builder's beige paint, a hand-me-down table (which i love, because my grandpa built it), and an ugly black bookcase from target (that we've had for years). i don't know if i want to do a bright pop of color like the orange, a more subdued color like blue or grey or some sort of treatment, like stripes. we've got a window seat in there which makes it a little more difficult. i've always loved the look of paneling or a chair rail but with that window seat smack dab in the middle of the room, i think it would look silly. also, how are you supposed to do window treatments when you have a window seat?! i've been struggling with that for ages! plus, our entire downstairs is open concept and i'm not sure what to do about that either. do i try and make the wall color coordinate with what's going on in the living room? and do i get the same window treatments as in the living room and on the sliding glass door? hmm...decisions, decisions.

  1. We should consider getting some paint soon and just going for it! I will say that the stripes idea doesn't seem like it would look too good in our dining room. A pop of color may be just what is needed.

thanks for the input!
