and it's a good one, at that!
a week or so ago, we had a little picnic with my brother, sister and sister's boyfriend. we ate hot dogs, drank pepsi and munched on chips. for dessert, i decided to bring yummy s'mores bars (since national s'mores day was on the friday before and i didn't have any!!). they were seriously some of the yummiest things i have ever had.
ingredients:1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 king size milk chocolate bars
1 1/2 - 2 cups marshmallow fluff
preheat oven to 350 degrees.
in a bowl, mix together butter and sugars. add in the egg and vanilla.
in another bowl, mix together flour, graham cracker crumbs, salt, and baking powder.
pour butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix together.
split dough in half and press half of it firmly into the bottom of a 8x8 inch greased glass baking pan so it forms an even layer on the bottom.
layer on the two king size chocolate bars (i used one milk chocolate and one dark chocolate).
spread marshmallow fluff (or cream) evenly over the top of the chocolate bars, making sure to cover all of the chocolate.
place the rest of the dough on top of the marshmallow. try and smooth out as best as possible.
bake for 25-30 minutes. you'll know when it's done.
make sure to let the bars cool completely before eating.
for helping me find the perfect recipe!
