aden + anais

if you have a big baby, and boy do i have a big baby, you know how difficult it is to swaddle them.
if you don't, let me tell you, it's no easy task. c;

j and i had the hardest time swaddling landon in any of the receiving blankets that were given to us for gifts.
not only was he too long for them, he was also too strong.
he was constantly kicking out of them or squirming his arm up out the top.
it made for some difficult night's sleep when he would wake himself up by accidentally smacking himself in the face.

after a few unrestful nights, we decided to go search for some bigger blankets.
the first place we went? target.
because we all know that target has basically everything anyone could ever need. right?
yes. i'm right.

we searched down every aisle dedicated to baby things and all we could find were regular old blankets.
they weren't big enough. and if they were big enough, they weren't the right thickness.
apparently, all big blankets are made of fleece, or something similar, and that's just too thick of a blanket to swaddle a babe in.

and then! right next to the baby monitors! we found them!
the PERFECT blankets.
the makers? aden + anais.

"For countless generations, mothers have swaddled and cared for their chidlren with natural muslin. aden + anais helps continue this tradition with the softest swaddles and fashion-forward prints that say as much about your style as they do about practices that bind mothers together around the world." -taken from their site

these were the ones we got.
the jungle pack.
however, at target, they don't come with the giraffe. boo.
it's the other three and one plain blanket.
these swaddlers work perfectly for landon.
they are HUGE, soft, stretchy and breathable.
he never gets too hot and stays just warm enough.
they cover him completely and he can't kick or punch his way out of them.
we couldn't be more pleased! c:

well, other than donating through other foundations like this one. c;
